There are 5 types of Sapsasa events: 


District Carnivals – Year 5 and 6 students School team(s) compete against other schools in our district during the school day – an excursion  It is each schools decision to enter and form teams via school processes (trials)


Statewide Carnival Competitions   Schools have a chance to nominate but only get one, strongest, team  This includes Basketball
 

Age based Carnivals – for Swimming, Athletics and Cross Country Swimming – open to any competitive swimmer in year 4 or above and turning 10, 11 or 12 anytime THIS YEAR (before December 31)  Individuals can attend with an adult or school teams with school supervision If you win a race you will be invited to the State Championships to swim for Tea Tree Gully district against other districts Athletics – Open to students in year 4 or above and turning 10, 11 or 12 anytime THIS YEAR (before December 31)  Individuals can attend with an adult or school teams with school supervision If you win a race you may be invited to the State Championships to compete for Tea Tree Gully district against other districts. Cross Country - Open to students in year 4 or above and turning 10, 11 or 12 anytime THIS YEAR (before December 31) who can run the required distance and show proof of training – usually limited to 10 students per age group and gender.Top six runners in a race may be invited to the State Championships at Oakbank to run for Tea Tree Gully district against other districts. 


District Team Trials – Year 5 and 6 students only After school trials held at different venues around the Tea Tree Gully area Trial weeks are approximately listed on the calendar in the left hand columnParents must take you to and from the trials You must nominate online to be able to trial Trial information and dates will be advertised via news events and in the documents sectionYou must be able to play the sport at a competitive level (know the rules, have experience in a competitive setting) to be able to trial. The strongest ONE team from all 20 Tea Tree Gully Schools is selected for each sport – the calendar of events is on TeamApp and attached hereState Carnivals and Championships – Selected Year 5 and 6 or 10, 11 or 12 year olds Attend trials above or get selected from a district carnival to compete for the Tea Tree Gully district against other districts Parents/Caregivers need to take you to the event days during school hours Parent/Caregivers will need to take you to trials and trainings leading up to the carnival There is a cost if selected in the team Approx $110 for team sports Approx $15 for individual sports
